Content Description

The collection consists primarily of pamphlets on World War I, American citizenship, the League of Nations, and Memorial Day annuals. A red flag with blue and yellow stars (35 x 59 in.) circa 1918, labeled “College Service Flag,” may have been used in remembrance of World War I soldiers from the Eau Claire State Normal School. The collection also includes programs, including a 1925 Ku Klux Klan “State Klonvokation” program from Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and War Exposition programs. Signed Periscope yearbooks from Eau Claire State Normal School, photographs of Eau Claire schools, correspondence, “Facts About Eau Claire” flier, School Song – Thou Normal of Eau Claire, and a Minnesta State Prison Handbook are also included.

Biographical/Historical Note

Pearl Seguin attended Eau Claire High School circa 1914-1917 and Eau Claire State Normal School circa 1917-1919. She graduated Milwaukee State Teachers’ College in 1940. She worked as a teacher in the Eau Claire area for a number of years, specializing in the education of deaf children. She passed away in January 1989.
