Content Description
This collection is divided into three series. Series 1 contains meeting minutes, annual reports, and general files such as student and alumni surveys, long range planning documents, and information about the Center for Health and Aging Services Excellence. Also contains newspaper clippings, class photographs and a Medical Technology program scrapbook created during the early years of the program. Series 2 contains course proposal forms and syllabi from courses in environmental public health, music therapy, and health care administration. Series 3 contains self-studies, reports, and responses from accreditation team visits as well as internal reviews, evaluations and audits of the department and academic programs.

Biographical/Historical Note
The Department of Public Health Professions began as a degree program in medical technology established in 1955. The Division of Allied Health was established in 1969 and at that time offered degrees in medical technology and environmental public health. A degree in health care administration was added in 1976. The medical technology degree was terminated in 1995, and the music therapy degree was moved from the Music Department to the Department of Public Health Professions in 1996. In 2008, the music therapy degree was moved back to the Music Department and the health care administration degree was moved to the College of Business. In 2009, the department administered one major: Environmental Public Health.
As of 2009, the Department of Public Health Professions is situated in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. It was previously administered by the College of Professional Studies.
