The University of Wisconsin--Eau Claire Alumni Association selected its first president in 1921. Nonetheless, the earliest documented activity of the Association was the celebration of Alumni Day in 1932. Existing records indicate that regular Association meetings and class reunions were being held by at least 1938. In 1942, the Association began publishing Alumni News, which carried articles about alumni, reunions, and significant campus events. That publication continued for over 60 years as The View and is presently Blugold View.

Over the years, the Alumni Association has expanded its activities to include special alumni gatherings throughout the country, scholarships to students, and solicitation of funds from alumni on behalf of the University of Wisconsin--Eau Claire Foundation, Inc. A board of directors guides the Association, with staff support provided by the University’s Director of Alumni Relations.
