Summary

After service in World War II, Eugene R. McPhee became director of teacher training at Eau Claire until leaving for Madison in 1948. Contains personal and professional papers of McPhee’s military career in the United States as well as while he was stationed in Italy. McPhee’s thesis and other documents from his educational career. There are early University of Wisconsin -- Eau Claire financial documents regarding scholarships, memorials and other aspects of the university.

Summary

Professor emeritus Laura Sutherland, an Eau Claire Normal School graduate and professor of history from 1921-1959, was commissioned to research and write a history of Wisconsin State College at Eau Claire in anticipation of the Golden Jubilee of WSU-EC in 1965-1966. This collection includes the chapters of her manuscript and reviewer comments, including comments by Dr. Richard Hibbard and Dr. Leonard Haas.
