Summary

Robert Frost manuscript materials and books collected by Frederick G. Schmidt. Over 40 first, limited or otherwise rare editions of Robert Frost’s books, many of which have been signed and inscribed by Frost, are included along with approximately 50 books which contain or discuss Robert Frost’s poetry. Included among the manuscript portions of the collection are handwritten pieces of poetry, Christmas cards, other published works by Robert Frost, and fragmentary correspondence.

Summary

The collection consists of a 21-page hand-written volume containing 81 poems by Violet Leigh, and vol. 1, no. 1 of the publication “The Eau Claire Monthly: Poetry and Prose” edited by Violet Leigh, ca. 1916. Violet Leigh was the pseudonym of Maud Phillips. Maud was born circa 1869 to Katheline Safford and grew up in Clark County, Wisconsin.
