Typewritten manuscript of a series of 197 articles written on the history of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, presumably published in the Chippewa Herald Telegram. The articles, or “episodes,” are typically 3-4 pages long. Written as historical narratives for the general public, the episodes discuss transportation, natural disasters, lumbering and logging, business, politics, Native American – settler relations, sports and leisure, education, and various other topics. The articles cover events from the 1840s through the 1920s.

Biographical/Historical Note
The Chippewa Herald Telegram first appeared in 1926, following the merger of the Chippewa Herald and the Chippewa Telegram. The newspaper served as the primary print news source for Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. In 1995, the paper was renamed the Chippewa Herald.
