Biographical/Historical Note
According to the 1993 DAR Handbook, βThe National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, founded in 1890, is a service organization and has as its objectives: to perpetuate the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved American Independence; to develop an enlightened public opinion; and, to foster true patriotism and love of country.β Members are women who can trace their roots back to the American Revolution.
The Eau Claire chapter was organized in 1918 by Mrs. Jeanette Fulton. In the first few years, members helped the Red Cross by sewing to help the war effort.
