Contains interviews with politicians that worked on the Rural Electrification Act (R.E.A.) during the Great Depression as well as notable members of the Farmers’ Union. Also contains notes for Adolph Ralph Maassen’s masters thesis in history, published in 1968, on the growth, development, and effect of the Rural Electrification Act Program in West Central Wisconsin.

Daniel Bastian Nelson Collection, 1898-1919
A collection of photographs taken by Daniel Bastian Nelson from 1898-1919 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, the surrounding Chippewa Valley, and Madison, Wisconsin. The photographs were taken using a Magazine Cyclone 3 camera and the negatives are on glass plates sizing 3 ¼”x4 ¼” and 4”x5”. The photographs are more informal than traditional studio portraiture of the era, documenting the lifestyle of the era and portraying the subjects in more casual poses than traditional portraiture.

Founded in 1918, the Eau Claire chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is a group of women with ancestry connecting to the American Revolution. Records contain information relating to chapter meetings, member and chapter histories, State and National Society DAR information, and historical endeavors in the community from 1919-2019.
Eau Claire Regional Arts Council Records, 1982-2018
The Eau Claire Regional Arts Council (ECRAC) was founded in 1982 and continued until 2018. ECRAC restored the State Theater and operated there, bringing touring shows to the area and providing a venue for local theater groups to perform. The organization advocated for the arts and helped establish the Eau Claire art scene. This collection includes board meeting minutes, State Theater remodeling documents, local show programming, and various promotional materials.
