Documents from the University of Wisconsin—Eau Claire Department of Speech regarding curriculum, enrollment, building operations, meetings and events sponsored by the department from 1951-1978. The bulk of the materials focus on the late 1960s and early 1970s and range from the first draft sketch of the Fine Arts building to budget details and brochures.

The collection is split into six series. Series one of Academics includes a North Central Association report, bookstore orders, course catalog information for speech department, academic plans and program reviews, etc. Series two includes building operations and remodeling information for the Haas Fine Arts Center, Brewer Hall, and the Human Development Center. Series three includes financial records for the Speech Department and series four includes graduate program information. Series five has Speech Department and Forensics brochures, invitations, programs and speech meet information, Communicative Disorders brochures, and High School Speech Institute information. Series six of Miscellaneous has staff information, memos, meeting minutes, a profile memorandum of Department of Speech, course offerings for Public Address, proposal of the Humanities Education Theatre Company (an educational innovative program), and information about the establishment and general upkeep of WSU Radio/TV.
