Memorabilia pertaining to UW-Eau Claire, including sheet music, stickers, photos, a report card, a diploma, reminiscences of alumni from the 1930s, story about the naming of campus buildings by Clarice Chase Dunn (1937 alumna), two letters from Bill Zorn, Army Glider training material, pennants, letterman sweaters, a freshman beanie, football uniform, 1970 class ring, 3 glass panes from Schofield Hall skylights (box 6), a plate with Edward Fish depiction of Schofield Hall, a brick removed from Katherine Thomas Hall on lower campus in March 2022 by Chancellor James Schmidt and Interim UW-System President Tommy Thompson, a UW-Eau Claire – Barron County coffee mug (ca. 2020), and Tornado Watch, winter carnival, and homecoming buttons. Also includes a plaque dedicated to Robert L. Gunn, a faculty member from 1946-1969. The plaque and a flagpole were dedicated during Homecoming Oct. 10, 1970, on upper campus near Towers residence hall.

Biographical/Historical Note

In 1927, the State Normal School in Eau Claire became the Eau Claire State Teachers College, providing teacher education. During World War II, the college provided accommodations and instruction for Army Air Corp cadets. In 1951, the Board of Regents authorized Eau Claire to grant the Bachelor of Arts and the Bachelor of Science degrees and the official name of the College became the Wisconsin State College at Eau Claire. In 1964, the institution was renamed Wisconsin State University-Eau Claire. With the merger of the Wisconsin State University System in 1971, the name of the institution was changed to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. On July 1, 2018, the University of Wisconsin-Barron County officially became a branch campus of UW-Eau Claire as part of a UW System-wide restructuring of all the former UW Colleges. The Barron County campus was officially named, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire – Barron County.
