Summary
The collection is comprised primarily of correspondence from Donald “Don” E. Compton, Charles “Chuck” Compton, and Ruth Compton to their parents L. M. (Lindley M.) and Elva Compton (Tomah, Wis.) L.M. Compton was the first superintendent of the Tomah Indian Industrial School in Tomah, Wis. The largest part of the collection consists of letters from Don to his parents. Summary
Papers of the family of Edgar Goff, who left Massachusetts and purchased land in the Township of Pleasant Valley in Eau Claire County in 1857. Edgar was a farmer until his death in 1894. Upon his death, Edgar’s son, Arthur W. Goff, inherited his property. Included are financial and land records, financial journals, grocery lists, genealogy, a brief history of the Goff family, a hand-drawn map of the farm, and correspondence.

Records relating to Memorial Hall, first residence hall on the Eau Claire State Teachers College campus in 1947. It was originally the Dulany Mansion of lumber baron Daniel Dulany, located on the northwest corner of State Street and Garfield Avenue. It became a men’s dormitory in 1955 when a new women’s dormitory was built.
