Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. Michael Griffith Camp No. 35 (Eau Claire, Wis.) Records, 1910-1952
Membership and ladies’ auxiliary records of a fraternal and political organization of Union Army veterans’ descendants founded in 1881, The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW). The collection includes ladies’ auxiliary meeting minutes and membership records. The bulk of the camp’s records consist of membership records, but fragmentary correspondence and financial records may be found as well.
TAP Line (Eau Claire, Wis.) Records, 1970-1992
Records of the organization TAP Line, started in 1970 as the “Troubles and Problems” 24-hour telephone hotline for youth in crisis in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. It later expanded to every age group. In the late 1970s, it became sponsored under Luther Hospital and the United Fund Agency. TAP Line was disbanded in 1992, and Luther Hospital took over the hotline as a public service.
Ted Simpson Papers, 1990-2018
Collection documenting Ted P. Simpson’s experience with K Company, 159th Aviation regiment (18th Airborne Corps) during the Gulf War and of Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm from 1990-1991. Simpson was a Sergeant in the United States Army and a Medium Helicopter Repairer (67U). Materials include a diary and correspondence (including transcriptions), photographs of his experience, a chronology list of events, and an oral history interview from 2018.
Terry Classen Papers, 1926 - 2015
Terry Classen served as Director of Facilities Management at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire from 1985-2015. In this capacity, he coordinated efforts associated with the construction and maintenance of campus buildings. He also worked closely with external agencies regarding land usage and related issues. The contents of this collection consist of correspondence, newspaper clippings, and photographs that Terry collected that are associated with the history of the university.
The Frederick G. and Joan Christopherson-Schmidt Robert Frost Collection, 1913-2002
Robert Frost manuscript materials and books collected by Frederick G. Schmidt. Over 40 first, limited or otherwise rare editions of Robert Frost’s books, many of which have been signed and inscribed by Frost, are included along with approximately 50 books which contain or discuss Robert Frost’s poetry. Included among the manuscript portions of the collection are handwritten pieces of poetry, Christmas cards, other published works by Robert Frost, and fragmentary correspondence.

Records of the UW-Eau Claire Academic Staff Committee, consisting of meeting minutes, correspondence, committee reports, governing documents, and subject files documenting the governance of academic staff at UW—Eau Claire, and the review of academic staff positions and salaries on both the UW—Eau Claire campus and the UW-System at large. The Academic Staff Committee was absorbed into the Faculty Senate, creating a combined University Senate, in 1987.
