Records of the service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega, established at Eau Claire in 1949. Records include a charter, by-laws, membership lists, alumni files, meeting minutes, newsletters, pledge materials, anniversary materials, photographs, scrapbooks ranging from 1949-1965 and 1985-2006, and artifacts of a sweatshirt, coffee mug, and wood plaque. Digital files, originally located on a flashdrive in the President’s binder, range from 2008-2016, and are located in the Digital Asset Preservation Storage: “AS544_Alpha Phi Omega” collection, accession folder 21-002. Files include Blood Drive information, membership records, award templates, electing and voting of officers, officer transition documents and checklists, service learning, conference information, budget information, by-laws and constitutions and other organizational files.

Biographical/Historical Note

Alpha Phi Omega, a national coeducational service fraternity, was founded in Easton, Pennsylvania in 1925. The Eta Lambda Chapter was established at Eau Claire State Teachers College in 1949. The chapter engages in service activities to support organizations such as the American Red Cross, the Special Olympics, the Salvation Army, and the campus health center. The chapter also organizes dances, parties, and other social events.
