Bill Zorn Papers, 1916-1987
Willis Lawrence “Bill” Zorn was a Dean of Men, athletic director and a celebrated coach of the UW-Eau Claire basketball and football teams from 1928-1969 at the University of Wisconsin--Eau Claire. The collection includes personal and administrative files, Eau Claire athletics and NAIA files, and records of the Air Force Training Program that was housed on the Eau Claire campus from 1943-44.

Records pertaining to Citizens Against Silica Mining (CASM), a Winona, Minnesota, based group that were concerned with/opposed to frac-sand mining in southeastern Minnesota and southwestern Wisconsin, including Trempealeau and Buffalo Counties. CASM was started by anti-frac sand mining activist Jim Gurley and his wife. Contains newspaper articles from 2012-2017 related to CASM and frac-sand mining in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Correspondence, newspaper clippings, and a cemetery plot certificate pertaining to Hiram P. Graham, president of Phoenix Manufacturing Company, first mayor of Eau Claire, and postmaster general from 1888-1889. Includes an 1885 letter from Eau Claire citizens recommending him as postmaster general.

Photocopied correspondence, newspaper articles, photographs, and military records of a Vietnam War soldier from Colby, Wisconsin, Dennis Lee Klimpke. Klimpke was killed in action on April 15, 1968. He was posthumously awarded a Silver Star for gallantry in conduct, a Bronze Star, and a Purple Heart.
